Combat

Prepare for encounters and learn from each fight.

Winning starts before the first strike. Your trained stats, equipment, active guardian, class and effects all contribute to your fighting strength. Battles resolve automatically; the combat view and detailed log let you watch what happened.

Understand your stats#

StatWhat it helps you do
PowerHit harder and overcome an opponent's defenses.
DefenseReduce incoming damage.
AccuracyLand attacks.
EvasionAvoid attacks.
LifeStay in the fight.

A larger level number alone does not tell the whole story. If you keep missing, inspect Accuracy. If you take too much damage, review Defense, Evasion and your equipment. Use combat logs to guide your next training session.

For more on base stats, Intellect, Spying, and Shrouding, see Understanding your stats.

Brawl#

Brawl offers NPC opponents to challenge for progression and rewards. Inspect the available enemies and choose a suitable rank. Fighting costs Energy; searching for new opponents uses Labor. The screen also shows when opponents will refresh automatically.

Start with opponents you can handle consistently, then try harder encounters as your build develops. Your current Life matters in regular combat, so check your condition before starting another fight.

Different places, different stakes#

  • The Solo Dungeon is a personal floor-by-floor challenge.
  • Arena is seasonal ranked PvP with full-Life starts and no damage to your real Life.
  • Regular player combat has its own eligibility and protection rules. Read the confirmation before attacking.
  • Castle Wars are organized around guild participation and battle slots.

Elemental allegiance#

Allegiance adds an elemental choice as your character progresses. Each element has an advantage against another; use the in-game diagram to understand the matchups. Choosing or changing allegiance follows a weekly window and takes effect later, so check the displayed schedule before planning a switch.

Intel and robbery#

Intel helps you learn about other players. Train Spying to improve intelligence gathering and Shrouding to resist it; both training and spying spend Energy. Reports can reveal location and, after a successful same-city attempt, approximate combat stats and allegiance. Treat these as estimates; same-city spying can notify the target.

Robbery is a PvP fight that can take some of the target’s carried Gold if the attacker wins. Both players must be in the same city and not traveling. Temple status and newcomer protection can prevent attempts. Robbery spends Energy, and repeated attempts against one target can reduce the Gold available to steal. See Trading & Gold for storage options.

Recover and prepare#

If you are incapacitated or recovering in the Temple, finish recovering before returning to activities that require a healthy character. Keep an eye on active buffs and debuffs, and use consumables according to their descriptions.

Improve your foundation through Training, then review your Equipment and Guardian.
