Chapter 1 - The Separation#

Twelve hundred years ago, the Final War shattered the vast continent of Panthalor, a land that had long stood beneath the rule and guardianship of many gods. For ages beyond counting, these divine beings had watched over this realm the Old Father first had shaped from the void - lands they tended as mortal civilizations rose, flourished, and spread across the world.

As time passed and seasons changed, those civilizations turned upon one another. What started out as small quarrels quickly evolved into rivalry and those rivalries deepened into hatred, and hatred into war. As the peoples of Panthalor stood on the brink of extinction, the gods sought to intervene, rather than allow all creation to perish, they divided the continent itself into four separate lands.

One realm was granted to the dwarves and the Wise Folk, and was named Barundria. Another was given to demons and the creatures of shadow, and became known as Morathria. A third was reserved for the half-gods, who claimed it as Aetheria.

All the remaining beings, those whom no god chose to champion, were cast into the final land, Celestria: the humans, judged too greedy; the elves, too proud; the half-demons, too deceitful; and the beast kin, too hostile toward all others. Thus Celestria became the continent of the outcasts, misfits, and the ill-gotten and yet even those required a guardian.

The gods therefore joined their power to create a new deity, one whose sole purpose would be to watch over this forsaken land. From their united will was born Lumina, the Goddess of Light, who was charged with guiding the rejected civilisations toward unity, though even the gods doubted such unity could ever be achieved.

When the division of the world was complete, the gods summoned a vast magical storm to prevent all travel between the four continents. To further ensure the separation would endure for all ages to come, they raised a colossal mountain range that split the world itself into four quarters. At the center of this barrier lies the only known crossing: a place called the Dark Eye. There the storm gathers in its most violent form, the heart of the eternal Manastrom - through which passage is said to be all but impossible for any living being.

Chapter 2 - The Twilight#

The lands of Celestria were not gentle in the First Century. When the Separation tore Panthalor apart, a cataclysmic storm swept across the newborn continent, reshaping its mountains, rivers, and forests beyond recognition. The surviving beings were forced to begin again upon wounded soil.

But the storm did not pass without consequence.

The violent surge of unleashed mana soaked into the world itself, unearthed dungeons, and gave birth to creatures that had never before walked beneath the sky. These beings came to be known as monsters, and they spread across the continent like a second calamity.

Seeing her fragile realm threatened with extinction once more, the young goddess Lumina resolved to act.

Drawing upon the deepest reservoirs of her divine power, she shaped seven beings unlike any the world had known before. Each was forged from a primal element, and each carried enough mana to rival entire armies. Their sacred duty was to bring balance between monsters, civilizations and inform the Celestrians of their origin.

Thus were born the Seven Primal Dragons.

Noctharax, the Death Dragon, whose black wings were said to swallow moonlight itself. Wherever he passed, silence followed, and even monsters learned fear.

Seraphyra, the Holy Dragon, radiant and white as dawn over untouched snow, whose presence alone could turn despair into resolve and corruption into ash.

Ignarok, the Fire Dragon, red as a burning horizon, whose breath reshaped battlefields and whose fury broke the advance of endless hordes.

Abyssundra, the Water Dragon, blue as the deepest ocean trench, moving with quiet inevitability and patience older than storms.

Terragorr, the Earth Dragon, brown as the bones of the world itself, immovable and eternal, whose strength anchored kingdoms against annihilation.

Verdanith, the Life Dragon, green as the first forests after creation, whose power restored what war and monsters sought to erase.

And finally Caelthor, the Storm Dragon, robed in violet lightning, whose wings carried thunder across the heavens and whose wrath scattered armies like leaves before the wind.

Together, the Seven became Lumina’s living covenant with the peoples of Celestria - the last safeguard against a world still struggling to survive its own rebirth.

Chapter 3 – Evermore#

The centuries that followed became an age of rebuilding. Under the protection and strength of the Primal Elder Dragons, civilizations rose once more across Celestria. Monsters retreated into forests, mountains, and deep dungeons, and for a time they no longer posed a constant threat. Cities were founded, roads were carved across the land, and a fragile peace settled over the continent. Though the memory of death and destruction still lingered in every people, Celestria looked toward a brighter future for the first time since the Separation.

The humans established their great bastion at the center of Celestria and named it Astreus. To the west, not far from Astreus, the beastkin raised their stronghold of Elysium. In the northeast, the half-demons built the fortress-city of Duskara, while the elves remained scattered throughout the ancient forests, keeping to their hidden domains.

Yet as the centuries passed, the strength of the Elder Dragons slowly began to fade, and monsters once again became a common sight across the continent. Seeing the balance weakening, the dragons chose to bestow fragments of their power upon mortal champions, who fought in their names against the rising threat. For a time, this was enough to hold the darkness at bay.

But unrest continued to grow.

As fear returned, so too did ambition. Celestria was a limited land, and each civilization sought a greater share of it: more territory, more resources, more security for their own kind. The renewed presence of monsters became both a danger and an opportunity, for lands lost to wilderness could now be claimed anew.

As the corruption of ambition spread among the civilizations, one of the Elder Dragons turned against them. Caelthor, the Storm Dragon, rose in wrath against the peoples of Celestria. After a dreadful war, the elves succeeded in sealing him deep beneath the earth and built their bastion above the sealing chambers. This place became known as Beluria. Over time, the powerful magical currents surrounding the seal altered the elves themselves, turning their skin shades of grey and black. From then on, they came to be known as the Dark Elves.

Meanwhile, the humans fought a war on two fronts against both the half-demons and the beastkin. Though they succeeded in destroying the capital of the half-demons and nearly drove their people to extinction, they could not sustain both conflicts. In the end, they were forced to sign a peace treaty with the beastkin. Those who didn’t want to participate in the war had fled east and established a city named Ostheim in a cold area where nobody thought living was possible.

In the aftermath of the wars, the human kingdom of Astreus underwent a great upheaval. The ruling king was overthrown, and a new era began under the House of Arcluna.

Saito Arcluna the First proved to be a wise and just ruler. He abolished slavery, permitted half-demons to return to human villages and to Astreus itself, and pursued diplomacy and trade with both the beastkin and the elves more earnestly than any human king before him.

Under the reign of the Arcluna Family, peace had returned to Celestria once again, and for seventy years the continent endured without war.

Chapter 4 – Isekai Guardians#

Five years ago, everything began to change.

Monsters across Celestria grew increasingly aggressive, no longer confining themselves to wilderness or dungeons. They began attacking villages and cities alike, striking with a ferocity not seen in centuries. In response, the 4th and current King of Astreus, Ryobe Arcluna, dispatched numerous forces to investigate the cause of this sudden escalation.

What they discovered was unprecedented.

A being known as the Demon King Vorath had emerged, a species never before recorded in the history of Celestria. Desperate for guidance, King Ryobe Arcluna, alongside the Church of Lumina, called upon the Goddess for aid. Yet Lumina did not answer.

Soon after, disaster struck.

A massive combined force of demons and monsters descended upon Astreus itself. The battle that followed became known as the Onslaught. The city stood on the brink of annihilation, and only through the timely intervention of forces from Beluria and Elysium was total destruction averted.

In the aftermath, with Lumina remaining silent, King Ryobe Arcluna resolved to act without divine aid. He ordered his royal magicians to seek any means necessary to oppose the Demon King. Deep within the oldest and most forbidden archives, they uncovered ancient magic: spells capable of opening portals to other worlds.

With no alternatives left, they used it.

However, Lumina had not fully abandoned Celestria. To those summoned from beyond, she granted two unique abilities: Summoning and Growth. Summoning allows these individuals to call forth spirits of those who once lived, binding them as loyal Guardians to fight at their side. Growth grants them the power to evolve without the natural limitations imposed upon all other beings, enabling them to surpass any mortal boundary.

Chapter Z – The new era#

[...]

In the years following the summoning, the first wave of otherworlders had settled in Celestria, bearing the silent blessings of Lumina. It soon became evident that those chosen by the Goddess possessed strength unlike any seen among the peoples of the continent. With the gifts of Summoning and Growth, they advanced at a pace no ordinary warrior could hope to match.

Recognizing both the promise and the danger of such power, King Ryobe Arcluna ordered the dissolution of the Adventurers Guild and the founding of a new order: the Slayers Guild. Unlike its predecessor, this guild was reserved exclusively for the summoned otherworlders. Its purpose was to gather them under royal supervision, discipline their abilities, and direct their strength toward the defense of Celestria against the growing threat of monsters and demons.

As the king advanced in age, more responsibility for the governance of Astreus gradually passed to his eldest son, Crown Prince Shigeru Arcluna. Known for his composure and political caution, Shigeru increasingly assumed the burdens of rule while preparing to inherit the throne. His younger brother, Prince Hiroshi Arcluna, was entrusted with a different duty. He was assigned oversight of the Slayers Guild and commanded to train alongside the summoned warriors, that he might one day stand as the shield of the royal line.

Princess Megumi Arcluna, the king’s only daughter, was given a task no less important. To preserve the fragile peace between Astreus and Elysium, she was sent to strengthen ties with the ruling White Hare Clan, whose influence among the beastkin had grown dominant in recent decades. Renowned as merchants, diplomats, and formidable warriors alike, the White Hare Clan commanded both respect and caution across the continent.

Yet unity among the beastkin themselves remained uncertain. The rival Red Gust Clan, though bound by treaty after their last civil conflict with the White Hare Clan, continued to watch events with restraint rather than trust. While open war within Elysium had been avoided, tension between the clans persisted, and suspicion toward humanity had by no means faded. Beyond the walls of the great cities, the situation worsened steadily. Monster attacks became a weekly occurrence across the continent, and in some cases were accompanied by demons whose presence could no longer be explained by ordinary means. How such beings crossed into Celestria remained unknown. The ancient barriers raised after the Separation were believed to be unbroken, yet evidence suggested otherwise.

Within Astreus itself, darker rumors began to circulate. Beneath the city, hidden from the eyes of crown and church alike, a secret cult devoted to the Demon King Vorath slowly gathered followers. Their purpose, it was said, was the destruction of the House of Arcluna and the collapse of Lumina’s remaining influence over the continent.

At the same time, a new threat emerged in the northern wilds beyond the settled frontiers, a region now commonly called the Outskirts. There, a previously unknown class of monsters appeared. These creatures, named Titans, took immense and varied forms resembling colossal lizards, seekers, and behemoths. Wherever they advanced, forests were flattened and fortifications shattered. Though only two Titan assaults upon major settlements had yet occurred, each had been counted among the gravest threats since the Onslaught itself.

Meanwhile, the Slayers grew ever stronger. Their battles against monsters, demons, and at times even one another became increasingly common, for their power advanced through conflict. While their presence made travel safer in some regions, many among the common folk began to fear them almost as much as the enemies they fought.

Across Celestria, the sense of approaching change can be felt by all. The balance established after the Separation is shifting once more, and none can yet say whether the coming age will bring salvation or ruin.
