Fishing combines equipment, labor, and an active minigame. It can provide fish to sell, ingredients for cooking, and a collection of memorable catches.
Prepare your tackle#
You need an equipped rod, hook, and bait before casting. Fishing shops sell supplies, and stronger equipment may require more fishing experience. Keep an eye on your hook's remaining uses and your bait supply: having a rod alone is not enough.
Each cast uses labor. Check both your labor and your fishing inventory space before starting a longer session. A full basket means it is time to sell or use some of your catch.
From cast to catch#
Cast your line, watch for a bite, then follow the fishing minigame's prompts. Pay attention to the timing and on-screen feedback while reeling in. Your equipment and progression influence the experience, but the catch still needs your input.
Successful fishing builds fishing experience. Your progression screen tracks your rank and progress toward the next stage. As you improve, revisit shops and fishing locations to see what has opened up.
Use your catch#
Sell fish through the fishing inventory when you want gold, or keep suitable catches for the artisan kitchen. Fish can be sliced into cooking ingredients there. Check their sale value and the recipe you are preparing before slicing a prized catch.
Fishing together#
Guilds can unlock and build a fishing vessel, schedule trips, and register members for deep-sea fishing. The vessel provides trip benefits and needs maintenance between voyages. Check the guild schedule before departure.
The fishing screen also includes a weekly contest and catch records. Follow its current event status to see when competition is open.
