Become stronger

Understanding your stats

Understand combat stats, Intellect, and intelligence gathering.

Your character's strength comes from several systems working together. Base training, equipment, an active Guardian, your class, and temporary effects can all influence the result you see in battle.

Four combat foundations#

StatBasic purpose
PowerImproves your offensive strength
DefenseReduces damage from attacks that connect
AccuracyHelps your attacks overcome the opponent's Evasion
EvasionHelps you avoid incoming attacks

Avoiding an attack and reducing its damage are different defenses. If you miss often, more Power alone may not solve the problem. Read combat logs to identify whether you need more reliable hits, stronger attacks, or better survival.

Training and Intellect#

The Training Grounds show your base battle stats without equipment and Guardian bonuses. Training uses Energy. Intellect improves training efficiency, so read the bonuses shown before committing a large amount of Energy.

Character level, class advancement, training, and study are related forms of progression, but they are not the same thing. Check Training & Skills and Guardians & Classes for the next steps.

Spying and Shrouding#

Spying helps gather information about another player. Shrouding helps resist those attempts. Both can be trained through Intel, and training or attempting to spy uses Energy.

Reports may show location and approximate combat information when the requirements are met. They are estimates rather than a perfect prediction of a fight. Do not assume your target will always remain unaware of an attempt.

Compare the right numbers#

A training screen, an equipped character, and an intelligence report can show different views of strength. Check your active Guardian, gear, and effects before comparing values from different screens.
