Missions

Choose an assignment and plan your time.

Missions give you a steady way to earn experience, Gold and other rewards while pursuing the Slayers Path, gathering resources or working with the cities. Each mission shows its duration, Energy cost, rewards and risk.

Different reasons to take a mission#

Slayer assignments connect to the Slayers Guild’s work against threats, while gathering assignments focus on collecting useful resources. The cities also offer their own opportunities. Choose based on the displayed rewards and the time you have available, rather than assuming one mission type is always best.

Shorter assignments suit frequent check-ins; longer ones let you plan around time away. Use the current mission cards for the available durations and costs.

Choose and start#

Compare the mission's reward preview with what you currently need. A resource run can support crafting or property development, while another mission may fit character progression better.

You can have one mission active at a time. Starting spends Energy, and you need to be in a condition that allows the activity. Death, exhaustion and Temple recovery can prevent a new mission from starting.

Collect and repeat#

Return when the timer finishes to collect the result. The mission screen also shows its automatic-completion countdown. If you use looping, keep enough resources available and check back regularly: automatic repeats can pause because of your condition, requirements or the unattended-repeat limit.

Cancelling is a commitment: the mission's progress and spent Energy are lost. Finish or cancel an active mission before attempting travel.

Risk matters#

A mission's success is not guaranteed simply because its timer has ended. Failure can leave you incapacitated and exhausted, requiring Temple recovery before continuing.

Mission experience and relevant bonuses improve your odds over time. Read the current success rate on the mission card, especially when changing your routine or trying a new mission.

City Guard duty#

City Guard duty in Astreus is a separate timed assignment that spends Labor and pays Gold. Choose a shift, wait for it to end, and claim your reward. Cancelling forfeits both the spent Labor and the payout. Check the activity restrictions before taking a shift, since duty can prevent other commitments.

Prestige#

Once an eligible mission reaches guaranteed success, you can choose to prestige it. Prestige increases its reward potential and introduces fresh risk. The confirmation shows the next tier's terms.

Prestiging during an active run also changes the tier under which that run completes. Review the confirmation carefully before upgrading a mission you are already doing.

Pair mission rewards with Training and Equipment, or try Dungeons for a different adventure.
